Isabela handles purchasing for a family-run hardware import shop in Medellin and is 38. The painting started in 2021, when a brutal closing week dragged her into the art-supply store off Parque Lleras on a Saturday morning, mostly because she needed to be somewhere that did not smell of cardboard and toner. She is not pivoting to a side business -- the draw is the long quiet hours of layering acrylic over watercolor in the back room while her partner takes over the kitchen. Beginner mixed-media courses have come and gone in her routine since then, and she still eyeballs gesso volumes instead of measuring.
